Forbes 20 Richest Rappers List 2009: Who is The Cash King?

Forbes recently posted a list of the 2009 Top 20 Richest Rappers or, as the magazine dubs them in a desperate attempt to sound cool, Hip-Hop's Cash Kings.

Topping the list if Jay-Z, who earned a respectable $35 million over the last year. The number still pales in comparison to the $82 million he made the year before. Meanwhile, last year's #1 50 Cent dropped to number 4, earning $20 million. He earned a staggering $150 million the year before.

Intel Luncurkan Prosesor Tercepatnya

Enam vendor lokal siap gunakan prosesor Intel Core i7, dalam dua pekan ke depan.

Bahkan Country Manager Intel Indonesia, Budi Wahyu Jati, tak tahu pasti, kenapa prosesor baru Intel ini dinamakan Core i7. Yang jelas, bukan supaya kedengarannya mirip-mirip dengan iPhone-nya Apple, atau Windows 7-nya Microsoft.

Apapun alasannya, Budi menjuluki prosesor Core i7, yang baru diluncurkan di Jakarta, Kamis 20 November 2008 ini, sebagai "Prosesor Tercepat di Planet!"

Prosesor ini memang yang tercepat milik Intel. Tak main-main, berdasarkan pengukuran SPECint_base_rate2006 (standar benchmarking yang umum untuk pengukuran prosesor), core i7 memegang rekor skor 117. Skor tersebut merupakan yang pertama melampaui angka 100, sepanjang sejarah pengukuran prosesor tunggal.

Menurut Intel, prosesor untuk komputer desktop ini, merupakan loncatan inovasi yang mampu meningkatan kecepatan hingga 40 persen, ketimbang prosesor quad core sebelumnya, dengan konsumsi energi yang sama.

Ia merupakan produk unggulan Intel yang ditujukan bagi konsumen yang membutuhkan komputasi berkinerja tinggi, antara lain untuk keperluan gaming, atau encoding video berdefinisi tinggi.

Menurut situs Xbitlabs, Core i7 lebih cepat dari Core 2 Extreme QX9770 dari berbagai hal. Antara lain 52 persen lebih cepat saat menjalankan game 3D, 41 persen lebih cepat saat menjalankan aplikasi editing atau encoding media, dan 38 persen lebih cepat saat melakukan 3D rendering.

Prosesor empat inti yang berteknologi manufaktur 45 nanometer itu, menggunakan mikroarsitektur Nehalem, yang berbeda dengan mikroarsitektur Core yang dipakai oleh Intel Core 2 Duo maupun Core 2 Quad. Masing-masing inti mendukung multithread, sehingga kinerja prosesor akan lebih efektif dalam menjalankan multiaplikasi dalam satu waktu.

Mikroarsitektur itu menggunakan 8 GB memori cache level 3 (L3 cache) yang digunakan secara bersamaan oleh keempat intinya. Selain itu ia juga memiliki tiga kanal memori DDR3-1066, dan lebar pita ke soket CPU yang mencapai 25,6 GB/s (dua kali dari teknologi sebelumnya).

Prosesor yang menggunakan gerbang transistor berbahan high-k metal, itu juga yang menggunakan teknologi Intel Turbo Boost, yang akan menyeimbangkan kecepatan clock masing-masing inti dalam menjalankan single thread, maupun multithread.

Tujuh tahapan kecepatan clock pada teknologi Turbo Boost itu, memungkinkan prosesor menghemat daya, hingga berada dalam kondisi hibernasi, saat tak digunakan.

Adapun daya maksimal (Thermal Design Power) prosesor ini adalah 130 watt, dengan temperatur yang berkisar antara 60-70 derajat celcius - cukup panas dibandingkan temperatur rata-rata.

Sayangnya, ia hanya mendukung chipset Intel X58, yang hingga kini masih sangat jarang dijumpai di sini, dan relatif masih mahal. Begitu juga memori DDR3, yang cocok dengan prosesor ini pun, sampai kini masih sangat sulit ditemui di pasaran.

Intel baru akan melempar tiga jenis prosesor Core i7 ke pasar, yaitu Core i7-965 Extreme Edition dengan kecepatan clock 3,2 GHz (USD 999), Core i7-940 2.93 GHz (USD 562), dan Core i7-920 2,66 GHz (USD 284).

Saat ini, prosesor i7 juga belum tersedia di Indonesia. Tapi, "Rencananya, enam vendor komputer lokal telah bersiap untuk merilis komputer berprosesor i7, dua pekan mendatang," ujar Budi.

Di Amerika sendiri, beberapa vendor telah merilis produk-produk berprosesor i7. Dell menghadirkan prosesor itu pada komputer desktop Dell Studio XPS-nya dan Gateway meluncurkannya di dua komputer seri gaming FX-series-nya.
